Citadel

A tactical board game of living fortresses. Raise your Citadel, guard your Artificer, and build Behemoths to push across the board. Hold the Nexus to win.

Made by Sparking Tournaments. Plays in your browser, against a friend or the computer.

Three pieces and a prize

Every match starts the same way: each side picks one Citadel, one Artificer, and a pool of Creations. Everything else is decided on the board.

The Magnitude, a Citadel Dorah and Coh, an Artificer Baroner, a Cannon Golem Nexus
Citadel
Your stronghold. It earns resources from every territory connected to it. If it's hit while your Artificer is home, you lose.
Artificer
Your builder. New Creations appear beside it. If it's struck in the field, it falls back to the Citadel.
Creations
Golems, Giants, Titans, Spires and Monuments, bought with resources. Each has a power value, a facing, and its own way of attacking.
The Nexus
The gold ring at the center. Start and end your turn there with your Artificer and a Creation, or move your Citadel onto it, and the match is yours.

How a turn plays

  1. Collect. Gain resource points from every territory connected to your Citadel.
  2. Build. Convert one territory, or spawn a Creation beside your Artificer or anything connected to your Citadel.
  3. Move and attack. Move one unit and attack with one unit, in either order. Each of your units can turn once to take aim; most can only hit what they face.
  4. End. Your opponent does the same.

When a unit is attacked, it's destroyed if its power is lower than the attacker's. Otherwise it may strike back.

Five kinds of territory

Every Citadel collects from each territory at its own rate, so the ground you convert decides how fast you build.
